Ash Love

Bio

Ash Love (*1996) explores the construction, circulation, and transformation of narratives within contemporary regimes of communication and the representation of affects. Working across painting, sculpture, and installation, Love develops a visual and material language that draws on the semiotics of digital culture, symbolic systems, and the regulation of social norms. Their works combine visual motifs, language, and personal artifacts to create plural narratives. Their practice adopts a hyper-visual, glossy, and seductive aesthetic, echoing the immediacy of commercial imagery while destabilizing its promise of authenticity and transparency. Through strategies of displacement, assemblage, and repetition, Love proposes counter-narratives that encourage a collective and emotional reappropriation of feelings.

At sissi club, Ash Love is developing a new series of works titled gen ∞ for their solo exhibition Selfish, Swallow and Self-absorbed at Exo Exo gallery in Paris in 2025. At the same time, they are continuing work on the HAPPY BIRTHDAYS (28 CANDLES) series, presented on the occasion of Art Basel Paris. They are currently in residence at the Casa de Velázquez and will return to their studio practice in August 2026. His work is represented by Exo Exo, Paris.

Ash Love graduated from HEAD—Genève in 2021.
