Claude Eigan

Bio

Claude Eigan develops a sculptural and installation-based practice that engages with deviant bodies and their vulnerability, as well as the specific spaces these bodies inhabit. Drawing on science fiction, he brings together ordinary, everyday objects, which he manipulates, alters through changes in scale, and complicates by introducing bodily elements. Once “digested” in this way, the hybrid object becomes a vehicle for revealing dissident counter-histories inspired by the artist’s own experience.

Claude Eigan lives and works in Marseille. His work has recently been presented at sissi club (Marseille, FR), Triangle-Astérides (Marseille, FR), Zachęta National Gallery (Warsaw, PL), Gallery Klemm’s (Berlin, DE), Maison Populaire (Montreuil, FR), the 7th Athens Biennale (Athens, GR), the Bangkok Biennale (Bangkok, TH), Artemis Fontana (Paris, FR), Sophie Tappeiner (Vienna, AT), and Horse and Pony Fine Arts (Berlin, DE).
